(CG101) Introduction to VR/AR/MR Design & Development

About the Course

This course was part one in a three-part series of accelerated courses, designed to familiarize students with the skills needed to successfully navigate software and hardware used in virtual and mixed reality content creation. 

Course Objectives:

  • An introductory understanding of the history and future of VR/AR/MR technology and its potential use in a variety of industries.

  • Familiarity of software applications needed to create content for VR/AR/MR environments, including but not limited to the Unity game engine and 3dsMax.

  • An introduction to asset creation – do’s, don’t and limitations. 

  • Familiarization of hardware options and setup.

Software used: Unity, Maya, Photoshop

The class met 5hrs a week for one month and was largely exploratory.
